Aylesbury VWOC April meet (part 2 of 2)

The Aylesbury Volkswagen Owners Club (AVWOC) is a Facebook based club set up in 2020 for anyone owning a Volkswagen or VAG vehicle. The club has grown rapidly with over 1,300 members in just 5 years. Once a month they hold a 'Breakfast' meet at the Akeman Inn, Kingswood, near Aylesbury, Bucks. This monthly event has event has also grown in popularity and the large car park is almost always full of members vehicles, both air-cooled and water cooled. April's breakfast meet was held on Sunday 13th and as the forecast was good and I had some free time I jumped in my bus and headed over to join in the fun. The review continues as I walk round the car park, chatting to other members and taking photos.

As my blog is air-cooled based I try to keep my photos to air-cooled vehicles, so apologies to all the water cooled AVWOC members.

To see all my other blog entries, go to 'My Blog Archive' to the left of this page. Simply click on an arrow for a particular year, then click on an arrow for a particular month, this will then give you a drop down menu all all the blog entries for that month.

The blog continues as I wander around the car park looking at all the cool vehicles.

I can see my bus from here.

O.K. they are not VW's, but this pair of
lovely Triumph motorcycles pulled up for
a look around and get some breakfast.

The Aylesbury VW Owners Club is a great club and although the club suggests that it is for people living in Aylesbury, I do believe there are members further afield. So, if you fancy being part of this free to join club, search 'Aylesbury VW Owners' on Facebook. The monthly meet is held in a great location, (although it's getting a little cramped now with so many vehicles turning up!) and all the members seem to be friendly!! Overall a fantastic way to spend a Sunday morning.

I followed Ryan into the Akeman Inn car
park having found him broken down not
far from the venue with sheared off gear
stick.

Luckily Andy who runs the club had a
spare gearstick in his garage and after a
few minutes Ryan was back on the road.

The inside of Ryan's cool early bay.

My 1969 Microbus parked up at the
AVWOC breakfast meet.

This slammed early bay belongs to Andy
Pitt, who runs the AVWOC.

Andy's detailed and very clean motor.

So that was the first of two reviews on the AVWOC breakfast meet. Part 2 will be next Saturday where you can see plenty more of the members cool buses.
