Chiltern Hills Classic Car Show 2025 (part 1 of 3)

For this year only: In previous years I would attend a show / rally and then post a review about the show the following weekend. However this year I have been too busy, so for this year only, I will post reviews of all the shows / rallies I attended over the summer months throughout the winter.

This weeks blog entry is the first instalment about the annual Chiltern Hills Vintage Vehicle Rally which is a one day show for classic and vintage vehicles (including old Volkswagen camper vans) and is organised by the Game Club to help raise money for local charitable causes. The rally is a well established event which allows owners of classic and vintage vehicles to gather together in the glorious Buckinghamshire countryside. This event was actually their 23rd anniversary, and took place on 21st May. The new venue is at Weedon Park, Weedon Hill near Aylesbury and is a fantastic location for this great one day show which attracts well over 1000 vehicles of all descriptions and the Game Club had also organised: Children's rides / slides, a fun dog show, trade stands, an auto jumble, a beer tent, speciality teas, a pig roast, burgers and ice cream stands. I have been attendending this event for over 10 years and it's one show that I really enjoy due to the huge diversity of the vehicles. Find out more about the Chlitern Hills Rally from their website here: http://www.chilternhillsrally.org.uk/

Aylesbury VW Owners had a club stand
and this was a small part of it.

Lovely low early 1940's Chevrolet 3100
Thriftmaster.

Cadillac Coupe de Ville in pink.

Chevrolet Impala looked tough.

Mk1 Ford Lotus Cortina was immaculate.

Diversity is everything, where else could
you see a 1960's Jag, a Land Rover and
a mini in the same line up.

Yes please... Mk2 Ford Cortina 1600E.

It's on the road and being driven and
that's all that matters.

Stunning.

I wished my motor and engine bay looked
this clean!

Very trick.

Immaculate interior.

Lovely restored Beetle looked awesome.

Gorgeous body lines on this Ford Consul
Capri.

VW T25 Danbury.

American muscle line up was very
impressive.

Late 1960's Corvette was immaculate.

Such a beautiful car, why can't they make
cars like this anymore?

The interior would be a pleasure to look
at whilst cruising down the road.

Two tone paint on this '55 Chevy make
it look so tough.

To go with the tough looks you need a
big motor, and this has it!

Another tough '55. I did like the huge rear
wheels and tyres tucked under the stock
bodywork.

Plenty of bling on this huge motor.

So that was part 1 of 3 all about the Chiltern Hills Classic Car show. Next week will be part 2 where you'll be able to see more American muscle cars, military vehicles and some awesome VW's, so be sure to come back next week.

Halton Combined School Community Day 2025.

In previous years I would attend a show / rally and then post a review about the show the following weekend. However this year I have been too busy, so for this year only, I will post reviews of all the shows / rallies I attended over the summer months throughout the winter.

My mate Colin, who is a head teacher at Halton Combined School in Wendover put a post on social media asking anyone with a classic vehicle if they would like to pop down to a School community day / fund raising event that the school had arranged for today, Saturday 14th June. The day would consist of: live music, classic and modern cars, motorbikes, B-B-Q, bar, bouncy castle, ice cream van, dog show, campfire and bushcraft skills, and a circus entertainer along with a host of other activities. As Colin is a mate, and the fact that Halton Village is only about 5 miles from home, and as they had both a BBQ and an ice cream van, how could I possibly resist going along. This is probably the smallest 'show' that I attend each year, but as I said it's local to me, and I like to show my support to Colin.

Live music was provided by this guy on
the back of his Chevy 3100 truck.

My bus at the Halton School Community
show.

Suzie staying in the shade as it was a
really hot summers day.

A circus performer kept the kids busy. Here
he is riding a unicycle juggling burning
clubs!

I bet this Lotus 7 is fun to drive.

A lovely mid 1960's Wolsley 1500 with
Suzie photobombing my photo.

This Mini was so bright It also had some
neat touches such as those headlights.

I did like the wide colour coded arches
and the chrome door mirrors.

I believe Colin's dad owns this Ford
model Y. This really is a lovely example
of this 1930's classic.

In case your wondering, the car was
filled with inflated balloons and you had to
guess how many was in there to win a
prize.

Suzie in my bus.

The King's Birthday parade was held on
the same day in London. As part of the
celebrations a fly past over Buckingham
Palace was organised.

The fly past over the Palace included
numerous aircraft from all corners of the
U.K. One of these planes was the
Lancaster bomber which once the fly past
was done headed back to it's base at
RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire.

But as RAF Halton is next door to the
school, I think they did a quick detour to
fly over RAF Halton. I didn't have much
time to get the camera out and take photos
of this iconic aircraft as this photo shows!

A nice way to spend a sunny Saturday
morning.

I don't normally post photos of me on my
blog, but the guy who was taking photos
on behalf of the school, caught me red-
handed at the Donut van!.. well I never
could resist a donut!

He also took this photo of Suzie staying
out of the sun in my bus.

So that was the Halton Combined School Community Day review. As I said earlier, it's not like the normal VW / classic car shows I attend, it was a very small show but the atmosphere was nice and relaxed. It's nice to do something different from time to time, and it was also nice to be able to show my support to Colin. Next weeks blog is a three part review all about the Chiltern Hills Classic Car Show, where you'll be able to see plenty of American and British classic cars and more than enough VW's, as well as a host of other vehicles so be sure to come back next week.
