BeachDubbin VW Show (part 3)

On Sunday 3rd August I attended the 'Beach Dubbin' VW show which is held on Southsea Common in Portsmouth. This annual event has to be one of my favourite shows of the season due to it's location. Southsea Common is on the south coast and a stones throw from the sea. The size of the show, which I think is billed as 'The biggest one day VW show in Europe' and judging by the sheer number of vehicles that attend, I can well believe it!. The variety of vehicles is immense with every type of VW imaginable, from early split screens to the latest T6's and everything in between. I'm a member of the 'Wolfsburg Bus Crew' (Wolfsburg Bus Crew | Facebookand they had a club stand at the show, so I decided to join them in their line up. Some local members of the WBC drove down on the Saturday and camped over close to the show, but I decided to drive down on the Sunday morning with my mate Gary and meet the rest of the WBC about 1 mile from the show so we could all cruise to the show together. The only downside of this idea was the rest of the WBC were meeting up at 09.00, and to in order to meet them in time Gary and I had to leave our home town of Aylesbury at 06.00 to drive the 100+ miles to Southsea sea front. The blog continues as I wander around looking at all the cool VW's.

Awesome sight.

This and the following 6 photos, I must
admit I pinched off the BeachDubbin page,
just because they are such great photos
showing the atmosphere of the show. There
were hundreds of traders selling everything
you could possibly want or need.

My mate Gary knocking out some
cool tunes all day.

For those who haven't been to this show,
this photos shows just how big it really
is. No wonder they call it the largest one
day VW show in Europe.

Just some of the amazing BeachDubbin
crew who put the show together.

There was a BMX stunt rider who gave
a couple of shows throughout the day, what
this guy could do on his bike was insane.

There was plenty of food vendors who
catered for everyone. This vendor sold
tea and cake... Mmmm.

I absolutely loved this Bug.

The view from inside my bus.

Super clean and straight.

Time to head home and Suzie is ready
in her seat, waiting for me to pack up.

Heading home on the M27, I followed this
lovely split screen for a short while.

So that was the BeachDubbin show for 2025, without doubt a fantastic day out. This is one of my favourite shows of the year, if not the favourite, mainly due to it's location right on the sea front on the south coast. Of course the sheer number and quality of both air cooled and water cooled VW's, along with American classics, bikes and scooters also helps to make this show what it is. Add to that a vast array of traders selling everything from clothing to spare parts, and a great selection of food venders, what's not to like? Next weeks review will be a 2 part review on the Aylesbury VW Owners breakfast meet, so be sure to come back next week.
