Part 3 of 3.
Over the weekend of 6th - 8th September the 'Wolfsburg Bus Crew' held their annual crew camp out and Birthday bash, held at the Fir Tree Campsite in Banbury, Oxfordshire. This is the clubs 9th Birthday bash. The Wolfsburg Bus Crew is a club based in the U.K. (but they also have members worldwide) for owners of Volkswagen split screens, bay windows and T25's. The club attend numerous VW shows and events all year round and normally arrange a meeting place on the day so all the members attending can meet up and all cruise to the show together. The club is run by a guy called Rich, who works tirelessly to ensure the club runs smoothly, he's also responsible for the club merchandise, contacting numerous VW companies to ask for freebies for the club raffles and arranging club camping at shows and just about everything else you can think of. Check out their Facebook page here: Wolfsburg Bus Crew | Facebook I couldn't attend the camp out for the whole weekend so I drove the 50 miles or so on the Saturday morning.
The blog continues as I wander around the camp site looking at all the cool buses.

The volunteer crew members worked tirelessly all weekend to ensure everything ran smoothly. |
Looking across the field at the main camping area, I can see the roofs of the buses and the numerous flags each bus has. |
Suzie just having a rest as we'd just been around the dog walking field at the bottom of the hill. The awning came in handy in the afternoon as the sun came out and it was quite hot. |
Club member CJ, who also helps Rich run the club, built this BMX bike from scratch in this years Birthday bash colours as a special prize for the raffle. |
Programmable coloured funky lights made by club member Gary. |
Just a small selection of the raffle prizes from VW related companies such as Just Kampers, VW Heritage, Cool Air and Ob1 clothing to name just a few. |
The whole weekend was a relaxed affair. |

So that was my blog review of the Wolfsburg Bus Crew's 9th bash and camp out. Overall a very good weekend at a very good location. The atmosphere was very chilled and everyone was so friendly. There was a good array of catering vehicles there including freshly cooked pizza and a prosecco bar, a burger van where you could a breakfast bap or a full English and an ice cream van serving hand made ice cream and sorbets. The DJ's played some banging tunes in the marquee and everyone had a good time. Next year is the big 10th Birthday bash, so if you haven't been to this event before, I suggest you keep an eye open for the ticket sales to open and get in quick as I think it'll sell out pretty quickly.
