WBC Spring Meet 2026 (part 1 of 3)

The Wolfsburg Bus Crew is a club on Facebook for owners of Volkswagen split screen, bay window and T25 buses. Even though the club is based in London, they have members all across the U.K. as well as all over the world. It doesn't matter if your bus isn't a show winner, you'll be welcomed whatever your bus looks like. The club organise club meets, and club stands at various shows throughout the year, arrange various runs and camping trips and they have also negotiated numerous discounts from various VW parts suppliers. The club have two club meets a year, one in the spring and one in the autumn both held at Wendover Woods, near Aylesbury, Bucks, and both with a camp out at a camp site next to the woods. This year the Spring meet was arranged for Saturday 18th April. This was just a 'WBC' member only event, where you could catch up with old mates that you haven't seen over the long cold winter. It's also a good chance to make new friends, and not to mention give your bus a shake down run ready for the summer season. 'Rich' who runs the WBC arranged for all of us to meet a a local supermarket in Aylesbury and cruise together up to Wendover Woods in convoy, (easier said than done!) a journey of around 7 miles.

I arrived at the supermarket at 10.15 and
there were already numerous busses
parked up in Tesco's car park.

10.30 sharp the convoy sets off for the
cruise to Wendover Woods.

Rich decided to do a loop on the Wendover
by-pass and park up to enable all the
busses to regroup as the convoy got
split up to to traffic lights / roundabouts etc.

All the busses are back together, so we
set off again to cruise into Wendover.

Suzie in her normal cruising pose, hanging
out the window.

In Wendover we drove up the high street
to the roundabout and then back down
creating two lanes of vintage VW busses.

The locals out shopping seemed to enjoy
our parade of busses as a lot of them
stood and waved, and took photos as we
cruised through their historic market town.

Entering Wendover woods on a beautiful
sunny Saturday morning.

Suzie posing.

Following Andy along the winding road
that leads to the main car park.

Andy brought the cruise to a stop for a
minute to allow Rich go on ahead and
get in position so he could take a video
of all our busses.

Rich, who runs the WBC sitting comfortably
whilst taking a video of all the busses
entering the woods. I'm not sure if this
will work or not, but here's the link to Rich's

Almost at the main car park.

Parked up in the huge car park.

Just a random photo of Andy's patina'd
early bay.

My bus parked up in the sunshine at
the WBC Spring meet 2026.

Dave and Angela rolling into the meet.

I do like a high riding T25.

This one was extra nice with the spot
lights, awning and custom wheels.

Simon brought his awesome 7UP single
cab.

Suzie on guard duty as I have a chat
while I wait for the kettle to boil.

Andy's custom alloy front bench seat.

Sat in my bus with a cuppa, this was my
view through the windscreen.

That two tone split screen parked opposite
me, really is a nice looking bus.

So that was the first of 3 instalments all about the Wolfsburg Bus Crew's Spring meet. Next week will be part two where you'll be able to see plenty more cool WBC busses so be sure to come back next week.

Volksworld Show 2026 (part 4 of 4)

The Article I read said, "The worlds best air cooled magazine (Volksworld magazine) is preparing to bring you the best air-cooled VW's in it's new home. For 2026, the show returns to the South of England Showground in West Sussex, a spacious venue with a great combination of indoor and outdoor space. Some of the finest creations to have rolled out of a factory in Wolfsburg will gather at the South of England Showground to create one of the biggest and best gatherings of Volkswagens anywhere in the world! Get ready for Volksworld 2026 to see the very best Beetles. Karmann Ghia's,T1/T2 campers and busses, plus all other air cooled Volkswagens". After reading that description of a forthcoming VW show how could I not check it out? and the best bit was dogs were allowed as the majority of the show is outdoors, so on Sunday 22nd March Suzie and I jumped in the bus and drove the 85 miles to the show. The review continues as I wander around checking out all the cool VW's.

Amazing show car.

Gorgeous early split rear window bug.

Rag top, grey paint and chunky tyres it
doesn't get much better than this.

I loved the way those rear tyres fill the
arches.

I did like this ratty slammed bug.

My mate, Jimmy had his spilt screen
on display.

Quality pinstriping on the front of this
split screen.

OK it's not an air cooled VW, but you've
got to love a 1966 Mustang.

A lovely clean type 34 Razor Edge.

Paint or patina? You choose.

Porsche decals on this single can looked
great.

If you like bright paint, you'd love this
lime green bug.

I do think 'Roo' bars on a bus looks good.

The photo doesn't give this bus the justice
it needs, as it was so clean and straight.

Not a £30,000 show winner but it's on
the road and being enjoyed and that's
what it's all about.

A great variety of air cooled vehicles.

This stunning Puma GT caught my eye.
The Puma was a Brazilian built sports
car, built between 1964 - 1989.

The lightweight body was often compared
to the Ferrari Dino or the Opel GT.

The puma's body sits on a beetle floorpan
and uses the VW air cooled engine. These
GT's are very rare in Europe.

So that was the Volksworld Show for 2026, overall a very impressive show. The sheer number of vehicles of all models across the air cooled range was amazing. My blog photos showed just a small selection of the vehicles. The location was very spacious (much better than the old location for this show!) with a lot more vehicles outside on show and the lovely weather helped make this a great day out. I'm looking forward to next year already! Next week the blog is all about the Wolfsburg Bus Crew's spring meet at Wendover Woods, where you'll be able to see plenty of quality air cooled buses so be sure to come back next week.
