On Sunday 16th, I cruised down to Dubs at the park, a local show with my friends James and Helen. I went in my bus and James took their lovely '67 beetle. Dubs at the park is a VW show organised by the London & Thames Valley VW Club. The LTV-VWC caters for anyone with an interest in VW's, air cooled or water cooled, any age and any condition. The show is run by a team of volunteers and their aim is to increase your enjoyment of the whole VW scene along with their family ethos. The one day show was being held at Fawley Hill, Fawley, Henley-on-Thames, which is the private estate of the late William McAlpine and Lady McAlpine in the heart of the English Countryside. Once described by Country Life Magazine as 'The most bonkers estate in Britain', it is home to a Victorian railway station, the steepest standard gauge railway track in the world, a railway museum and over 20 animal species.

This is such a nice clean and straight car. |
Wish my engine was this clean. |
A couple of other friends of mine, Julian and Zoe came along in their gorgeous square back and parked up next to us. |
Julian sells numerous used parts for almost every VW. Check out his site and you might find the part or panel you can't find anywhere else. |
I bumped into Joe who came along in his gorgeous early bay. |
Johnny's go anywhere bug. |
Having had a good look around the show we decided to check out the railway and museum. |
The steam train was constantly ferrying the public around the grounds. |
On my way out of the show I spotted another mates vehicle, it was (another) Julian's, beach buggy (far right) |
Following James and Helen out of the grounds for the short cruise home. A very good day with great company. |
