Halton Combined School Community Day

My mate Colin, who works at Halton Combined School, put a post on social media asking anyone with a classic vehicle if they would like to pop down to a School community day / fund raising event that the school had arranged for today, Saturday 29th. The day would consist of: live music, classic and modern cars, motorbikes, B-B-Q, bar, bouncy castle, ice cream van, campfire and bushcraft, along with a host of other activities. As Colin is a mate, and that Halton Village is only about 5 miles from home, and they had both a BBQ and an ice cream van, how could I possibly resist going along.

Fiona parked up at the community day.

Colin took his lovely early bay.

Just sat in the bus having a cuppa out of
the hot sun, looking across at all the
many varied stalls.

Suzie had to sneak into the photo!

Halton has an R.A.F. base and the RAF
Police brought along one of their vehicles,
the kids loved the lights and siren.

Entertainment for the day was provided
by this cool guy banging out the tunes on
his guitar on the back of a lovely old
pick up truck.

So that was the Halton School community day, overall a very pleasant way to spend a few hours on a Saturday. I chatted to lots of people asking about my bus, and most of them had memories of either having a bus, their parents having a bus or someone they knew having one. It was great to hear their memories and stories. This wasn't as big as the shows / events I normally attend, but sometimes small varied shows can still be as interesting, as was the case today.
